Creating a Simple
Daily Meditation Practice
Thursday, June 4th | 6pm to 7pm | FREE
Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated or spiritual.
If you have been wanting start a daily practice, but aren’t sure where to start — or tried it out and gave up — I hope this will give you a boost!
In this introductory discussion, I’ll share a few simple, and practical techniques to build and maintain a simple meditation practice that can fit into even the busiest schedule. We will explore different ways of developing concentration/mindfulness in a formal sitting practice, have an opportunity to try them out, and have space to ask questions.
I’ve maintained a daily meditation practice for over a decade — but I’ll be the first to tell you it didn't come easily! While I draw from my formal training in Tibetan Buddhism and yoga practice, I aim for my instructions to be accessible for anyone —spiritual or secular. Over the years, I’ve found that a daily practice contributes of steady kind of guidance, strength and support to face whatever arises in life with a bit more understanding, patience and compassion.

Cultivating Presence, Practicing Compassion.
In Collaboration / Support of Buddhist Prison Ministry | Facilitated by Suzanne Lucas
Six-Week Series Starts Thursdays, June 11th | 6pm to 7:15pm | Online Only.
Each week will be focused on both building a daily mediation practice — of any length that works for you — and reflecting on each one of the Six Paramitas or Great Perfections. The Six Paramitas are the essential road map to open the heart, to living life with more integrity, generosity and compassion. BPM / Susan Shannon offers such wisdom and clarity around these topics, and we will be reviewing her writing in BPM's 2nd Course Book - Prayers and Practices: Activating Buddhism in Daily Life.
